Private tours depart on your chosen dates; small group options follow fixed schedules.

Turkey and Egypt are linked by history, geography, and direct flight. Istanbul sits at the intersection of Europe and Asia; Cairo sits at the intersection of Africa and the Middle East. Both cities ruled vast empires. The Hagia Sophia and the Pyramids of Giza are separated by 2,100 km of the Eastern Mediterranean but connected by a 3-hour direct flight.

Why Turkey and Egypt Work Together

The two countries offer non-overlapping experiences. Turkey provides Byzantine and Ottoman architecture, volcanic landscapes, and Aegean coastal sites. Egypt provides the only surviving structure of the original Seven Wonders, a 220-km navigable river corridor through temple sites, and the Grand Egyptian Museum opened in 2023. No monument type repeats across the two countries, making the combination efficient for first-time visitors.

What Each Country Covers

Turkey (Days 1 to 5)

Istanbul is the entry point. The standard program covers Hagia Sophia (537 AD), the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar, the Spice Bazaar, and a Bosphorus cruise over 2 days. A domestic flight to Kayseri (1 hour 15 minutes) reaches Cappadocia for 2 nights: Goreme Open-Air Museum, Derinkuyu underground city (extends 85 metres below ground), and optional balloon. Some packages add Ephesus and Pamukkale for 2 additional nights.

Egypt (Days 6 to 10 or 14)

Cairo receives packages for 2 days. The Giza Pyramid Complex (Great Pyramid at 138.8 metres, Sphinx at 73 metres), the Grand Egyptian Museum (5,398-piece Tutankhamun collection), and the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square form the Cairo program. The Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan covers 220 km over 3 to 4 days including Karnak Temple Complex (200 hectares), Valley of the Kings (63 known tombs), Edfu, Kom Ombo, and the Temple of Philae.

Suggested Route and Duration

10 days: Istanbul (2 nights) + Cappadocia (2 nights) + Cairo (2 nights) + Nile cruise Luxor to Aswan (4 nights). Minimum for a genuine two-country experience.

12 days: Adds Ephesus and Pamukkale in Turkey, or Abu Simbel and extra Luxor time in Egypt.

14 days: Covers both Aegean Turkey and Abu Simbel in Egypt at a pace that allows genuine site exploration.

Getting Between Turkey and Egypt

Direct flights from Istanbul (IST) to Cairo (CAI) take approximately 3 hours and operate daily on multiple carriers. This connection is included in the package price. Luggage transfers at Cairo airport are coordinated by the local Magnificent Travel representative.

Best Time to Travel

October through April suits both countries for sightseeing. Egypt's outdoor sites are best visited before summer heat. Turkey's Cappadocia is good year-round. July and August: Luxor and Aswan reach 42 to 48 degrees Celsius. Avoid outdoor Egypt sites between 9 am and 4 pm in summer.
